Wine bottle holder
The wine bottle holder was my first riveting project and it was quite an experience, juggling several pieces of metal and getting them to rivet together. The design was inspired by a blacksmith called Dauber Smith, who makes some great original items (you can see them on his Instagram account, @daubner_smith).
It was a tricky project. It was a peculiar shape I had to make so that it would cradle the bottle properly. It was also hard because I had no measurements, just a picture to work off and there were a lot of things to consider when it came to the length of the bars and where to bend them. Thankfully, I got all the bends in the right place and it fitted perfectly. But, to make it easier for next time, I made a metal wine bottle as a guide, so I can mould the bar round that to make it faster and more efficient next time.
Overall, I was really happy with how it turned out and I’m looking forward to selling a few on the shop.
